Product Overview
Diphenylcarbazide is a sensitive colorimetric reagent used for the detection and quantification of heavy metal ions, particularly hexavalent chromium (Cr⁶⁺), in water, soil, and industrial samples. When reacted with Cr⁶⁺ in acidic conditions, it forms a highly visible purple-magenta complex, allowing for accurate spectrophotometric or visual determination even at low concentrations.
This reagent is also used to detect mercury (Hg²⁺), lead (Pb²⁺), and other transition metals in certain applications. Its high sensitivity and ease of use make it suitable for environmental monitoring, wastewater testing, and regulatory compliance protocols.
