Product Overview
Safranin is the counterstain used in the final step of the Gram stain procedure, imparting a red or pink coloration to Gram-negative bacteria that were decolorized in the previous step. It provides the visual contrast needed to distinguish them from purple-stained Gram-positive organisms.
