5-Sulfosalicylic Acid is used as a blood fixative. It is typically applied to a blood stain prior to dye staining to fix the stain to the substrate and reduce the likelihood of destroying the stain when enhancing with dye. Acid Yellow 7 requires 5-Sulfosalicylic Acid.
